Hurricane Films are proud to announce their joint initiative, The Jack Jones Trust was formally launched in Westminster’s Portcullis House with Trade Unionists, MPs, film industry and Jack Jones’ family and friends in attendance. The role of the new Trust is to collaborate with Unions to produce films that honour the life and work of the great Trade Union leader, Jack Jones. With Trade Union backing these films will reflect the human principals by which Jack Jones lived his life. Speeches on the night included Tom Watson MP, Brian Reade Daily Mirror Columnist, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Len McCluskey of UNITE and a great intro from Rodney Bickerstaffe Jack’s friend and former UNISON General Secretary.
Dear Friends,
As a mere 81 yr.old, I have little to give now but my strong support for the gestation of the proposed film about Jack Jones and his life of effort, sacrifice, successes and true socialistic beliefs.
Formerly a printer from 1945, a member of the National Graphical Assoc, then and now a Unite (retired) member, I still look forward to seeing a true resurgence in our inherent fighting spirit, to destroy and leave in the debris of its enormous hatred of our workpeople, the political traitors to have so deeply harmed our nation, its people and damaged so many important opportunities to better the international cause of lifting up others, the starving and downtrodden who are still being abused, tortured, starved and murdered by the right-wing abusive policies practised by these thugs in power, those who hide behind smart suits, gatherings of the mighty, enjoying the benefits they’ve filched from us all.
Jack was a gtrue fighter, I’m proud to have known of him in my life, as also, meeting Paul Robeson and GennaDI Pyatakov who gave me the momentum to believe.
I would like to contribute after seeing article by Brian Reade in the Mirror this morning, either Virgin media blocking the jackjonestrust .com or …… ‘er just in case you think I am lefty billionaire sorry OAP but lots of £10 ‘make a muckle’
