After a six week shoot in Thailand and the Philippines, principal photography has wrapped on the Joe Cole starrer, A Prayer Before Dawn. Based on the book by Liverpudlian Billy Moore about his experience as a prisoner in Thailand and produced by Hurricane Films and Senorita – the film was line-produced in Thailand by Indochina Productions and executive produced by James Shamus with financing provided by Meridien Group.
Hurricane Films’ Sol Papadopoulos said, ”When Billy Moore knocked on our door three years ago he opened our eyes to a world and story we simply had to tell. The fact is it sounds exotic with lady-boys sharing a wing of the prison but the experience was far from paradise”.
His business partner and fellow producer Roy Boulter stated, “Our director Jean Stephane Sauvaire has shot an incredibly visceral and vérité style drama – we are desperate to see his first cut.”
