As part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Hurricane Films are inviting aspiring filmmakers to submit short films that depict a day in their life on June 1st, 2017 - 50 years to the day since the album’s release.
-
A selection of the submitted films will be shown at the premiere of ’A Day In The Life – 24 Zero Hours’ a short film written by Frank Cottrell-Boyce (Millions, 24 Hour Party People, The Railway Man), directed by Carl Hunter and produced by Hurricane Films - which has been commissioned as part of Liverpool City Council’s Sgt. Pepper At 50 project.
-
The short films (under 5 minutes) can range from professional-standard productions to being shot and edited on smart phones. The chosen films will be selected for their imaginative response to the brief, as much as their technical quality, but should show originality, have emotional impact or provide an interesting insight into the day in the life of the film maker.
Online YouTube or Vimeo links of the completed films should be sent to info (at) hurricanefilms.co.uk by midnight on June 9th, 2017. The chosen films will be announced on June 13th and the filmmakers invited to the premier on Friday June 16th.
Timeline:
June 1st - shoot day
June 9th - Deadline for submissions
June 13th - selected films announced
June 16th - premiere, Woolton cinema
