Hurricane Films have an outstanding track record as an independent media company, both in the traditional disciplines of Film and TV, as well as in the newer areas of digital, social and interactive.
In August 2015, Hurricane Films were announced as successful applicants in The Space Open Call Commissioning Programme. This will allow us to create a digital collage, based around Mark Lewisohn’s book ‘Tune In’, about the social history of The Beatles.
Roy Boulter and Mark Lewisohn will use crowd-sourcing technologies to help reveal an otherwise hidden social history of The Beatles. A leading world authority on the band, the duo will use the first volume, ‘Tune In‘, of Mark’s trilogy The Beatles: All These Years to build an ever-evolving lexical collage of The Beatles.
We have created many interactive digital projects for new devices and platforms. A notable success was the audience led community storytelling website People’s Stories which was an online aspect of the feature film Of Time and the City.
